Key Concepts
- Recipe linking: A menu item can be linked to one recipe. This drives cost reports and kitchen display. Create recipes in Restaurant → Recipes first.
- Modifier pricing: FIXED adds or subtracts a set amount (e.g. +$1 for large). PERCENTAGE adds or subtracts a percentage of the menu item price.
- Transfer menu items: You can transfer menu items, recipes, and modifier groups between business units or menus; use the transfer or admin menu flow if available.
Troubleshooting
Menu item not showing in POS or Consumer App
Check that the menu item is Is Active and Is Available. Ensure the menu is available for the current date and day of week.
Modifier required but customer skipped it
If the modifier group is required, set Min Selections to at least 1. The order flow should prevent submitting without a selection when required.
Recipe not in dropdown when adding menu item
Ensure the recipe is Active and in the same business unit. Use Restaurant → Recipes to create or activate recipes.
