Take your time counting the starting cash. An accurate opening count prevents issues at closing time.

Taking Payments

Cash

Select cash payment, enter the amount received. The system calculates change automatically. Count the change back to the customer.

Card

Select card payment. The customer can tap, insert, or swipe. Wait for approval before completing.

Split Payments

Some customers want to pay with multiple methods. Process the first payment, then process the remaining balance with the second method.

Handling Returns

When a customer wants to return an item:

  1. Ask for the receipt
  2. Look up the original transaction
  3. Select items being returned
  4. Choose the return reason
  5. Process the refund

Return Limits

You may have limits on return amounts. Returns above your limit will need manager approval.

Ending Your Shift

  2. Select Close Register
  3. Count all cash in your drawer by denomination
  4. Enter each amount in the system
  5. Review any variance shown

Variances

Small variances (under a dollar) are common. Larger variances should be reported to your manager immediately.
